404 Not Found
The server cannot find the requested resource.
| Class | Client error (4xx) |
|---|---|
| Defined in | RFC9110, Section 15.5.5 |
| Cacheable by default | Yes (RFC 9110, section 15.1) |
Common causes
- The URL is mistyped, or the page was removed or renamed.
- A broken link, or a route that does not exist in the application.
- Files missing after a deploy.
What to do
Fix the link or restore the page. If the move was intentional, add a 301 redirect. If the content is gone for good, 410 says so explicitly.
